Terms of Use
The rules for using MusiDrive during the private beta, in plain words.
These terms are between you and [legal name of the business] ("MusiDrive", "we"). By using MusiDrive you agree to them.
The beta
MusiDrive is in private beta, by invite. Things will change, and some will break. Keep another copy of anything you can't replace until the beta is over.
You won't be charged anything unless you choose a plan.
Trial and billing
Your invite comes with a 10-day free trial. Before it ends, MusiDrive shows you the plans and their prices.
If the trial ends and you haven't chosen a plan, your Vault becomes read-only. You can still open and download everything in it, and nothing is deleted.
Plans are sold and billed by Paddle, our reseller and the seller of record, under Paddle's own checkout terms. A plan renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the app; your plan then runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
Refunds: [refund policy to be added, for example how many days after a charge you can ask for one, and how].
[If prices change, how much notice we give before the new price applies.]
Your files stay yours
You own what you put in your Vault. You let us store, copy and send it between your Macs only so MusiDrive can work. Your files are encrypted on your Mac, so we can't see what they are.
What you can store
Only things you have the right to keep and use: sounds you made, packs and libraries you bought or were licensed, your projects. Don't use MusiDrive to share or distribute other people's work, or to store anything illegal.
If someone tells us you're storing their work without permission, we'll follow the law on such notices, which can mean suspending access to your Vault. [Copyright notice address and process to be added.]
Your key
Your Vault can only be opened with its key, which lives on your Macs and in your recovery key. We don't have it. If you lose every Mac and your recovery key, we can't recover your files.
Storage and fair use
Your plan comes with a set amount of Vault storage. When it's full, new saves wait until there's room. Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service.
Ending things
You can stop using MusiDrive at any time; copy anything you want to keep out of the drive first. We can end the beta, or your access, with notice, and immediately if you break these terms. When the beta ends we'll give you [at least 30 days] to copy your files out.
The legal part
MusiDrive is provided as it is during the beta, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost profits or indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to [the amount you paid us in the last 12 months]. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law doesn't let us limit.
These terms are governed by the laws of [country or state]. We'll tell you before making changes that matter; continuing to use MusiDrive after that means you accept them.
